A Conceptual Color Palette for Netflix TV Series

Netflix has introduced countless series to their subscribers. Balkon Design, an Istanbul-based creative studio, has created a graphic color palette concept that represents the major colors utilized in popular TV shows such as Stranger Things, The Get Down, and House of Cards.

For each show, five color palettes were selected. Most are captured from key elements or moments of the plot, others come from background details that define thematically an era or environment. All these moments tied together by a common thread give each series its unique characteristic.

Other than just being visually attractive, this project helps us look back at our TV watching history through different lenses. It enables us to go into more detail about what makes particular colors significant to certain shows and how they contribute to providing a deeper understanding of the story.
